Recurrence
Hi, now I am on 2 boards. Wow lucky me. I am 75 years young and go to the Cleveland Clinic. I had lobular breast cancer in June of 2012 and had a masectomy and nothing else. In July of 2014 I was diagnosed with MMMT uterine cancer and had 5 taxol/carbo treatments and 3 brachytheray treatments. I just had a biopsy of a lymph node above my ear and it showed that it is breast cancer. I also have nodules in my lungs that I am waiting to get a broncosopy for but they might not be able to get to it because the are near my windpipe. I will know soon. Would they use the same kind of chemo for this? Has anyone on this site had 2 kinds of cancers at the same time? Thanks Sue

Oh no!
Hi Sue - I, too am on both boards, but I'm so sorry to learn that that node was breast cancer. And yes, I am one of those folks with a 2-fer, both of mine being diagnosed 4 days apart. I was told it is not unusual for a woman to have both cancers during the course of her lifetime, but not usually at the same time. Really? My endo cancer was the garden variety type, tho, not MMMT and it needed no treatment beyond surgery and follow up exams for 5 years. My breast cancer still worries me from time to time (not so much anymore, but occasionally) because I had chemo and radiation for it because of a high oncotype test result.
Good grief - taxol/carbo is given for some types of breast cancer (triple negative usually). You had that chemo for endo cancer which was 2 years after a breast cancer that did not receive adjuvunct treatment. Yikes! I assume you were node negative at the time of your breast cancer surgery??? Double yikes.
Wishing you the best. Hope you'll find this group as helpful as the uterine board. There are a number of us who have been around for years.

I am new here and not sure exactly how it works. I too, have breast cancer, diagnosed in Oct 2016. I have no node involvement, state 1A. I kept being told it was "tiny" and maybe "they got it all with the biopsy". But had lumpectomy Nov 16 but margins not clear. Re excision Dec 14 and still questionable margins. I am thinking I want a partial mastectomy. How are you phusically now? I cannot begin to imagine how sad and lonely you must feel losing your partner at the same time. This site looks like a place for support. But it's not the same as having someone with you who cares and helps. I am sorry you are hurt. I thik you can learn to love yourself again as you regain strength. Your beautfy is inside, you know. Hope the best for you.

That's an awful way to spend Christmas, but you can spend New Years with better company - yourself and your son. You are beautiful, bald and all, plus - look at all that dead weight you just lost! Best wishes for a better New Year.

Though it wont take your pain away now, in the long run, you are better without him if that is the **** he chooses to be. Take care of you and your son. Go to agencies for help and they will help you. Keeping you in my prayers. Fight Fight
