Cancer Pain question...
I am currently using Doxil for a recurrence. The first round about two weeks after that round, I felt better-- the heaviness in my chest was gone, the pain in my back. I had my second round about a week ago, and all my cancer symptoms I was complaining about before I started Doxil are back (except the chest heaviness-- my pleural effusion is gone, I can feel that it's gone)-- just back pain and a side stitch.

Doxil
Sorry to hear some of your symptoms are back with starting Doxil. I have had 4 treatments with Doxil and have found it to pretty free of side effects. Yes I still have some momentary pains in my back and side but is relieved by tylenol. I know everyone is different, but I'm pleased that I have more energy and can travel to visit family and enjoy life. I pray the same will be true for you soon.

Thanks for the inputs... I
Thanks for the inputs... I am now painfree again. I talked to the doctor and he said it was just side effects from the infusion. He said that it's likely that the chemo is affecting cells around where the cancer is and thus causing pain. My CA-125 has lowered, so he is not concerned. He thinks that I'll have a few months of remission.

Hi Jodis
I am experiencing similar pains as yours even though mine is UPSC, and I am taking megace. Did you have radiation, by any chance? I had it a year ago, to a terrible outcome of abdominal pain. Then, it went underground and returned in the spring. Again, it reappeared along with back and leg trouble. My doc at MGH said it was all due to radiation colitis, and was "definitely not the cancer:". I got an appointment with a specialist in gi/onc but 1st appt is FEb 3!
I wonder if you heard this??
