My husband has Squamous cell carcinoma, base of tongue, 4 lymph nodes, right tonsil, he has gone through 9 weeks of Two types chemo (Abraxine and Cisplatin) and then he has completed 29 of 35 radiation treatments and 2 of three more planned cisplatins.  On Thanksgiving Day he was to go to the Cancer Care Clinic for fluids.  At that point they took his temp. and it was 100, then they did some blood work and his Neutrophils were at .32 and normal is 1.5-8.0 so he was hospitalized until his counts return to normal.  Does anyone else have any experienc with this?  If so, how were you supported in the hospital and how long did it take for your Neutrophils to return to normal?
