Needing your opinions, please?

I'm new to this forum and have already gained a wealth of knowledge regarding my situation.  I'm 57 years old and had a hysterectomy 30 years ago, but still have my ovaries.  In the last few months I've experienced cramp-like symptoms in my right ovary that extends across my pelvic area.  In the beginning I thought it was just typical cramping but it has slowly increased in severity and even seems to feel hot, or burning (if that makes sense).  In the last month I've also developed pain in my right hip that seems to be in the muscle. When I do stretches it feels just like a pulled muscle, but then does not go away.  It isn't an uncomfortable pain as I'm up and about, but more intense as I'm sitting or in bed.

I lost my mother in August of this year after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in July so I'm wondering if I'm just being ultra sensitive or if there's reason for alarm.

I'd like to ask anyone who has any medical knowledge or has gone through similar issues, their thoughts.

Thank you so much for your input, I really appreciate it!

    Perfect, I'm sorry I don't

Perfect, I'm sorry I don't have any medical knowledge or similar issues.  However, if you feel pain you should see someone.  A history of cancer in your family, and it doesn't have to be the same cancer, should have doctors check you out.  I have heard, "with your history" which means "since I had cancer".  There is no cancer in my family - you had your mother and that is direct.

It might be you being sensitive, but if you feel pain, just get it checked out.  I hope it is nothing and all is well.

    No medical knowledge

I agree with the above comment, you should see a doctor and request a CT scan or at least a CA-125 blood test.  I don't want to scare you or add to your concerns but I had no pre-warnings of my ovarian cancer.  So I encouage you to get it checked out. Sometimes you have to strongly advocate for yourself and insist a doctor take you seriously.   I send healthy thoughts your way, good luck

    Hmmm

Actually, I had left back pelvic/hip pain that radiated down my left leg. It felt like someone was twisting my insides.  It got worse over time and I found myself taking motrin from a couple times a week to every day.    However, I also had other symptoms.   Bloating, belching and sometimes difficult swallowing (not enough saliva).  Getting full quick. (This was back in 2005 - I was diagnosed with endometrial adenocarcinoma)

Now I have had what you indicate and have had scans, etc. but it was nothing.

As with anything, you know your body and you know yourself.  If you are going to worry constantly over this the best thing is to get it checked out.

    My best to you,

    Kathy
