Surgery recovery question

wife was diagnosed in Sept 2016, surgery scheduled then postponed due to blood clot in lung. So started chemo, and will have surgery after 3 cycles of dose dense chemo.

it looks like surgery will be some time between W/O Dec 19 and Dec 26.

our daughters wedding is scheduled for first week March.

what should I expect in terms of recovery. Will 8-9 weeks be enough time for her to recover and enjoy ten wedding? Will she be able to have fun, and dance (more than slow dance). Any help in what to expect is appreciated.

    Pratoman, hope you don't mind

Pratoman, hope you don't mind a Uterine cancer visitor commenting, all of us 'gyn cancers' support eachother.  We all hate to hear this, but "everyone is different".  It will depend on any other health issues your wife has that could effect her recovery, however I do think it is a GREAT motivator for her!  Here is praying for a speedy recovery for her.

    I'm from the uterine cancer

I'm from the uterine cancer group also. Of course everyone is different as far as recovery, but if it's robotic chances are the recovery will probably go pretty well. I can relate with the wedding. I didn't have my surgery until the week following my daughter's Disney wedding. I personally felt so much better after the surgery that I wished I could have had it before the wedding. Best wishes! I will be thinking of you! Hugs!

    Thanks for the responses,

Thanks for the responses, that's what I'm assuming, everyone is different. Unfortunately it won't be robotic, dr said it's too extensive it needs to be open surgery. So I'll have to just keep my fingers crossed, and hope she pushes herself a just a bit in recovery

    One step at a time

I'm sure the doctor is the best one to answer the question of recovery from surgery.  So much depends on age, state of health etc. I'm 76 and I could not have danced much after 9 weeks but with your love, support and encouragement I'm sure her chances are good she'll enjoy and love your daughters wedding. I  wish you all the very best with surgery and life!!
