Multiple unrelated cancers

Does anyone know of any studies being done on multiple unrelated cancers? I have had renal cell (2001), bladder (2015), lung non small cell (2015) and liver small cell (2016). I also lost a brother, at the age of 30, 20 years ago to multiple myeloma, a sister had breast cancer 6 years ago and my mother had lung cancer, since deceased. I have been told that all 4 of my cancers could be caused from my smoking? Just wondering?

    I do not know of any such studies either.  Have you found out about studies from any other sources?

    LFS research

    I don't know if you have been tested for LFS (Li-Fraumeni Syndrome) since it is very rare, but your family history makes me suggest that you should be.  I am not a doctor, just a biologist specializing in genetics. I lost one of my best friends, both his children and his mother to cancer because the family had LFS, a genetic condition causing multiple unrelated cancers.  There is a research foundation that is doing this research.  I don't have any connection to them in any way but I can give you a link to their website where you can get in touch with them for more information.     My niece passed away in August from multiple unrelated cancers and my sister asked for donations to small cell cancer research in lieu of flowers, but there was no specific place given.  I only know that a search for small cell cancer research will give you several places that are looking at multiple cancers, but if you find one, they may be willing to help you find the right one.  My oncologist has been very good at connecting me with research possibilities, so don't be afraid to ask your doctor.

    Multiple unrelated cancers

    i just read this thread. i was recently diagnosed with my 3d unrelated cancer in 6 years. I will check this out. Thanks for posting it.
