Node behind ear
Hi,
i had my 2 years CT scan last week, did'nt receive the results, but it should looks good since nobody called yet. Scheduled for a meeting to review it with urologist in early november.
The problem i have now, is that i have a lump behind my left year that appeared 4 days ago. It is 1/2" and don't seem to grow more. I don't have any infections that i am aware of. It is kind of hard, but i can move it with my fingers. Any of you had something like that? How long would you wait before showing it to doctor?
Thanks for your responses
Dave

sebaceous cyst
I suspect that what you have is a sebaceous cyst. It's caused by blocked sebaceous glands. It's not uncommon to have them behind the ear. I've had them before, most went away on there own, but I had to have one removed, in the office, no biggie...
If you are concerned by all means go see your PCP.

Cyst
Like Jason said, it's most likely a cyst. I've gotten a few. In fact I have one right now in front of my right ear. I've also had to have one removed. Think carefully before having surgery to remove it. I had one removed and the scar ended up being worse than the cyst! You can see your family doc or a dermatologist.
Take care,

Cancer Patient
You are a cancer patient now in my opinion when you get a lump that appears out of nowhere you let your medical team know. It probably is nothing but no will know that until it gets checked out. Remeber with cancer early detection is always beneficial to the patient.

Sebaceous cyst responding to TKI?
Good Morning!
This thread just prompted a question...would a sebaceous cyst respond to TKI's? Hubby had two surgically removed years ago (Before cancer) on his head. He had another lump around the time of the discovery of his mets/starting Sutent. Oncologist looked at it and felt it was, indeed, just a cyst and of no concern. I had totally forgotten about it until now...but it was gone a few months later. I can't find any info indicating that Sutent would affect the cyst. Hmmm....

I've had some that just go away. Sometimes they aren't cysts, but boils. Usually if they are painless, cyst. Painful, red, hot, boil. I think both can resolve on their own. I've enjoyed both.
I doubt they respond to cancer drugs, but you probably know where I went to medical school.

Few weeks after my surgery i
Few weeks after my surgery i found four or five lumps on my the back of my neck right where the hair grows, I could easily sense them and they were moved once I touched them. I freaked out and called my doctor, he insured me it was nothing important. They were gone within few days. I think it's good to talk to your Doctor, meanwhile don't worry
Waiting for hearing your good news

Subcutaneous Node
I would have it checked out. I have one on my arm, neck, chest, hip and stomach. They all seem to be just bumps that one would get from getting hit or bumping into something but the doctors believe them to be cancer. I even had 2 of them put through a regiment of radiation because they kept growing in size. The one on my chest and arm are slightly and occassionally painful but otherwise I wouldnt know I had them if I didnt run my fingers over the bumps. Best of luck
