Four year checkup tomorrow
Well, my wife is going in for her four year checkup tomorrow after a full nephrectomy on her right kidney in 2012. She is at annual checkups at this time and has been clear everytime.
We still pray for everyone on this board. You guys really helped us out when she was first diagnosed.
God bless.

Nice to hear Uncle Ned visited you in Michigan where we moved from to Floorida 1 year ago today. As I recall both you wife and I were nephed by the same surgical group at MIU.

Well, overall the appointment went very well. Her remaining kidney is clear (other than a small stone) and so are her lungs.
They did report a couple of extremely small cysts on ther liver (he called them freckles) that they want to keep an eye on.
So, they want to see her in a year.
Thoughts on if that is too long for these liver cysts?
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers!

Great news!
Congratulations, on the report. Liver cysts are normal as we age. I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable with a 1 year wait, but it really depends on you two. I'm sure the doctor would look at a 6 month scan if you felt strongly about having one. Can I ask you the size of the original tumor and RCC type? If you find time, could you also fill out my space information? That way we could get a glimpse of your history.
Thanks for letting us know how it went and congratulations again!

Thank you!
Thank you for the advice. I feel similar about the one year wait on these liver cysts, but the doctor said there isn't much he can do with them at this time due to their extremely small size.
Her original tumor was 3.5cm. It was isolated to her right kidney and discovered entirely by accident due to an ultrasound of her other kidney after a stone. After performing a biopsy and determing that it was malignant, she had a full nephrectomy of her right kidney. This was in summer of 2012. She had the 6 month checkups and now is on a one year schedule.
She has never had one symptom of this cancer and her remaining kidney is probably healthier than both of mine combined.
I will verify type, but I am almost sure it is clear cell RCC.
Thanks!
Tom
