Maybe a recurrence

Hi, I was 23 months NED but now the new ct scan shows nodules in both lungs that were not there the end of May.. They are small  the biggest one is 9x7 mm and I am waiting for the Dr. to deside to see what they are going to do. I heard that MMMT uterine  cancer likes the lungs.  Have any of you wonderful ladies had this.

    My mom

my moms initial chest X-ray showed nodules th lungs prior to her and hysterectomy. They have been following with ct scans post op since March. She also is a breast cancer survivor. They biopsies one and it came back benign but apparently it is hard to get enough tissue with a needle biopsy. So they are doing the wait and see. The gyn onc said we need to make sure this isn't breast cancer of which she is a 20 year survivor or uterine or benign But the biopsy of the largest nodule 10 cm is by the liver and too risky.  She also did a pet scan that showed one nodule with very very low uptake. tough!  she is 70 and wants to wait and follow. Her pathology was excellent. Serous pap cancer but no spread from hysterectomy omentum lymph nodes or ovaries. All negative. Just a very very small Amount of serous in the polyp. pathology.   So very perplexing. She feels great. No cough no shortness of breath. Living a great life. So I guess we go with that. Good luck to you.

So far my UPSC hasn't spread

So far my UPSC hasn't spread (I'm knocking on wood right now).  But I've also heard it likes the lungs and the liver.  Both of you - let us know how this plays out!

    Love,

    So sorry to hear this,

So sorry to hear this, namedropper. I don't think cancer has any rhyme or reason, they just travel where they will. I will have to say that I'm glad that the CT scan picked up your tumor as I've heard that sometimes it doesn't pick up smaller masses. I encourage you to stay strong as I'm sure your doctors will try to determine the treatment best for you.

I will keep you in my prayers!

A lot of options for you

namedropper, I am so sorry to hear about your scan results. It is what we all fear. I am 4 months NED from uterine MMMT and hoping to stay that way. I have read many posts by others who have had mets to the lung and have beat it back. Please find comfort in knowing that there are a lot of options for you if that is the case. Please let us know what your doctor says about next steps for you. Wishing you strength and hope. Kim
