Advanced Gall Bladder Canceer
i was diagnosis end last week with highly advanced gallbladder cancer. I am 69. Went to Doctor for back pain, but otherwise felt fine. I have received very little encouragement about treatment. The only treatment I was told about was chemo. I am trying to get in to a big city hospital with clinical trials. Any words of encouragement? Frankly, I am a basket case.

I think it's normal
To be a "basket case" is probably a normal respponse. I am not a medical professional, so cannot comment on the diagnosis. However, I do know a little about being a basket case, emotional upheaval, and uncertainty. I think your efforts toward getting into a big city hopsital is good. Use your best judgement on what feels right to you on the course of treatment. Then move forward on that course knowing it's right.
Take care of yourself in other ways as much as possible. If it means taking some time, even a few minutes each day for a mental break, to not think about your diagnosis or treatment then do it. When you focus back on your course of action, you may find you have more clarity.... less "fog".
As simple as it sounds, just take care of your overall health physically and emotionally. If you enjoyed walking, going for a drive in the car, people-watching at the mall, etc. I hope you can still find that time for yourself.
If there's any plans you need to make for the future, do it now. I hope you have people in your life who support you. If not, you don't need to keep un-helpful people around you.
Wishing you light and strength.
