Question re Surgery

I'm trying to remember if I read somewhere here about some supplement or OTC med to take shortly after surgery to cut down inflammation. As I'm heading in for my 4th major abdominal surgery, I have more concerns than ever about adhesions and inflammation.
Was it an acid reducer or something else?
Thanks in advance for any insights.

Adhesions
Some reading:
Anything available for reading is dedicated to the surgeon, not the patient. You, the patient, have absolutely no control over the formation of an adhesion.
I would sit and have a long chat with the surgeon and stress my concerns. There are procedures he/she can take to greatly reduce the chances of adhesions, but they can not prevent it from happening. Adhesions are a normal occurrence of the natural repair of the body.
My best to you,
John

I took cimetidine/Tagamet for my last surgery. There's a fair bit of research out of Japan that suggests it makes it harder for any cancer cells that escape during surgery to attach to surrounding tissue.

Thank you. I'll ask my surgeon about that.
