Harnessing the Immune System to Fight Cancer
Harnessing the Immune System to Fight Cancer
Some interesting news:
New drugs and methods of altering a patient’s own immune cells are helping some cancer patients.
The concept is far from "new", since the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been using the concept for thousands (not hundreds) of years.
And companies, Like Oxford University's "Oxford BioMedica" had developed the chemical they called "Trovax" in 2005. The formula indicated fantastic promise for cancer patients,
(Trovax was invested in heavily by a major chemo manufacturer, retested to "their standards", not Oxford's, and pronounced as nearly useless by that company. Unable to garner any other investors after that, Oxford shelved the Trovax project)
Using the immune system makes sense. Our immune system has the capability to identify and target individual cells; no other technology presently exists with such great accuracy. Unfortunately, like Trovax and/or TCM, reasons seem to exist that hamper progress and often puts a stop to any advancement of the fight against cancer using anything but present chemical practices.
There are indeed, other ways to fight cancer. No cure, not yet, but there are other less harmful ways to deal with it all.
Have hope! Never lose hope; never stop leaning forward.
