how can i help? emotionally... homeopathically... finding the right intervention
My dad was just diagnosed with stage 4 papillary non clear cell carcinoma after having a nephrectomy several years ago and now it has returned in the other kidney and in other places as well. my dad is my idol, my hero, and someone who has inspired my values and beliefs my whole life! i would welcome any guidance, hope, prayers, suggestions, or words of wisdom that anyone might have to offer on how to help him. My questions are:
how can i help? we're trying to be supportive, hopeful, and helpful... but love and a passionate desire to help one find the right help as quickly as possible can easily blur the line between between helpful and being overbearing. We're trying not to put all of the focus on the diagnosis... but at the same time, we can't pretend like we dont have fears... i want to find out what we can do that will help my dad... emotionally, physically, logistically... etc. If you could give your family members a script on how to help and how not to help, what would it say?
any legitimate homeopathic remedies that help prognosis, comfort, etc? i have had much success with homepathic interventions for non cancer related health issues... so i absolutely believe in them... but i also know that there are people who exploit hope and belief with scams.
any guidance regarding helpful medical interventions (western or non traditional) for non clear cell papillary carcinoma? from my reading so far, its much less common, and therefore harder to find interventions and resources on it.
thank you so much for any guidance you can offer! praying for a cure... praying for hope... praying for health... praying for peace... for all those in this family united in hope, support, and sharing information!

Welcome
Sorry to hear about your dad. Although I can't share much in homeopathics and how they may relate to his case, I can tell you that I strongly believe in the power of prayer. I will include your family in my prayers. I'd like to add, that not necessarily praying for a miracle, although if that happens AWESOME!! But sometimes just praying to learn acceptance & asking for guidance helps.
I'd also like to tell you if it's at all possible, have open conversations with your dad regarding his diagnosis and how it's affecting not only him but those around him. Personally I don't think there's anything worse than ignoring the elephant in the room.
Best wishes on the journey and in the meantime celebrate life.

thank you so much for the prayers!!! they are very much appreciated!!!! i think we are trying to balance aknowledging the elephant in the room with not letting the elephant be the topic of every conversation... but the balance is a work in progress. i agree on celebrating life... its a gift to be cherished always!

Hope
Never give up hope. Thats the first thing. Since my diagonosis I have really looked into all the ways to live with this diesease. I have chosen a whole plant food based diet. Which basically is no meat, no dairy. Because with kidney issues. Limited protein is important. I encourgae you to look into it. There actually is great resources available out there. Here are a few that really helped me: http://nutritionfacts.org/ based off a great book. "How not to die" another is a film Forks over Knives they also have a website and can make this lifestlye very tasty. Good luck and keep in touch. This website is great
