Two years NED
After nine years of battling cancer with 4 surgeries, at least 56 rounds of chemo, removing various body parts and a colostomy bag, I can now say that I am 2 years NED. My CEA, which has always been a good indicator, is vacillating between 1.8 and 2.8. Prior to my last surgery I was never NED for more than 10-12 months. I even had my oncologist send in the referral to remove my port. I'm tired of having to drive an hour every month just to have my port flushed. I'm also graduating to three months between blood tests (I'm sure my oncologist thinks I could go longer, but I'm not quite ready for that yet). It's exciting and a little scary. I feel so good I'm even trying for a promotion at work. I would have tried long ago but needed to focus on other things. Wishing you all the best. Traci

Great to hear Traci, I'm
Great to hear Traci, I'm right behind you at nine yrs total and two Ned in Sep. Going to six months bugs me a little because I won't get checked until Dec. and I'd like to see a cea test bump down once [2.3 currently], but I'd much rather have this set of worries than the older ones. Congratulations!
