End of week four , please no more

Shirley here reporting at the end of week four. More of the same side effects, nausea mouth pain throat pain and narrowing. Still eating solids. Lost appetite though. The smell of the hospital makes me sick. Water taste weird. I'm tired but will try to hold on. The worst is yet to come week 5 and 6 here I come. Congrats to all before me who have gotten off the treatment bus and good wishes to those sitting behind me. Not a trip I had ever planned on. Although I wish none of you were on this ride I am glad to not ride alone.

Week four was my best week.
Week four was my best week. Five wasn't as bad as I anticipated by six really tested me. I made it and you will too.
What are you using for your mouth? I pushed through and kept suffering through each meal, but I was determined to make it to the end on solids. I did use smoothies as my in between meals booster. Meals were child sized portions but with the amount of protein and carbs I needed. You're almost there and you'll be glad you did it in the end. I know the struggle, just being one week post rads today! Take it a day at a time. Get some Lidocaine swish and spit. Kills that pain long enough to eat.

Right behind you!
You are doing great! I have the same symptoms as you. Yes! Water tastes weird - it tastes like salt to me. When I eat, it makes me more nauseous, so I am going on all fluids. Using the magic mouthwash...helps for a short time. The end of my 4th week will be Monday and I'll have 3 weeks left. You are doing great!! It will soon be done!!
