For some as-yet-unexplained reason, the OTC antihistamine Claritin seems to help with bone pain from the Neulasta/Neopogen injections.
Like I said, I had no problem with Neulasta but when I had to take Neuprogen I had bone pain. I was told about the Claritin and it did work. No bone pain the next time I got the Neuprogen. Amazing!

Had to take Dad to the ER
Had to take Dad to the ER today with stomach cramps. They think he is just constipated. He is home now. Just not sure about this Neulasta shot. His white count is only 1.6. I thought it would be higher.

Neulasta takes about a week to really kick in. It is a slow acting drug. the Neuprogren is the one that work over-night.
I've become very aware of my contipation now with all I've been through. I still take some kind of stool softner 2 or 3 times a week plus I amke sure I am eating things higher in fiber. Apples is one thing I have not lost my taste for.

OK thank you lindary. I had no idea that shot took a week to kick in. I guess that was a light bulb moment for me.

Neulasta
Hi Everyone ! New to the forum, glad to meet all of you. I have NH B-Cell Lymphoma stage 4. Only have had one treatment so far,R-CHOP.Was supposed to get Neulastin, but put off because of very large spleen.Which was first sign something was not right. They want the spleen to go down before i get Neulastin,so being careful i don't get a cold with immune system so low.Been tired since before last Christmas, got flu through Jan-Feb,took 2 rounds of Z-paks to kick it.at least now i know the reason i have bern tired so long.Coffee kept me functional and i never missed a day of work the last 4 years. Now i will to get my chemo treatments.Prayers to all of you on this journey.

It's not working... now they are talking about another shot.. I think it is what you were talking about Lindary. Neuprogen.?
Dad has been in the hospital for about a week now with c-diff and neutropenic. They have him in quarantine.
Blood counts were almost back to normal. Thought he was going home on friday. Then tonight the docs came in and said his white cell count dropped in half over night. They have no idea why.

Welcome to you, Kg.
R-CHOP is a very common combination for NHL, and a lot of folks here can answer questions if any arise for you.
Please feel free to begin your own thread -- they're free !

Now this morning I get to the hospital to find out that Dad had severe diarhea all night. Dad said it was pure liquid.
I have no idea what to think about this. He has been on antibiotics for c-diff for almost a week now. His diarrhea was all cleared up.
Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?
