Getting closer to Starting Chemo

in Breast Cancer #1

this is my second bout with Cancer.I start Chemo Tues.I see Dr. Monday.My emotions are all over the place.And get worse the closer it gets.Should I ask for Valium to calm me before treatment.?I am also due a mamo.Will they give that to me while doing Chemo?Thanks for your imput.I appriatte it.

    I believe it is OK to take anxiety pills during chemo. I was given Ativan and it did miracles for me. Talk to your doctor and see what he/she recomends. Good luck!

    Don't forget that if you take valium, xanax or similar drugs,it is recommended that you don't drive. Good luck on Tuesday. Hope you have someone to go with you.

    Pat once I started chemo again...

    It got better.  The second time, I had radiation first, and then it was the holidays, so I waited until Jan. 12, to do the chemo.  That was 4 months after  the dx.  It gave me too much time to come up with every negative see imaginable.  Once started, I didn't have any of the ones I had with Cytoxin.  

    It was better than I thought it would be.
