The things I could usually
The things I could usually count on to taste good or at least be tolerable on my bad days was: Watermelon, Baked Potatos, Green Beans, Black Eyed Peas and Low Fat Ice Cream. Everyone is different but I would say have easy to fix stuff on hand. Toast, crackers, soup, etc. for those days that you just don't feel like cooking. I could not eat sweets during chemo. (I sure have made up for it since I finished though - ugh!)
You will do great. If you haven't, please read the thread on Ladies Going Through Chemo. I think it will help you a lot.

Soup!
I made soup before and I had friends who brought soup during. For me, it was perfect. I also had a lot of fresh fruit around... melons, watermelon, popsicles or juice bars to suck on when you just can't drink another glass of water. Crackers and ginger ale, too.

I ate a lot of soup. I have
I ate a lot of soup. I have a friend who is the queen of soup and she made me individual servings. Popsicles were also a go-to food. But somedays, absolutely nothing tasted good. Good luck!!!

Watch out for already cut up fruit
For food safety reasons, I would not recommend pre-cut fruits or vege when you are immune compromised. Too much risk of bacteria contamination. Buy whole fruit and be sure to wash the outsides thoroughy, especially melons. I would suggest you even use dish soap on melons since they sit directly in dirt and manure may be used for fertilizers or sometimes farm workers use fields for bathrooms. Not to mention how often this stuff is handled before you get it. Sorry to be icky but better safe than sorry!

Yep! I used dish soap on my melons before I cut them. Then, I cut the entire thing up so that it was ready for me on my bad days. It will keep fresh for several days. It was truly my life saver when I couldn't eat anything else.
Hide those popsicles! :-)
Good luck and I know you will do great.

Smoothies
You can buy premade in the grocery store but I never felt too bad to make them. I kept chopped up bananas in the freezer ( makes them thick like a milkshake) and tossed them into my blender with yogurt, other fruit, handful of leafy greens, etc. Check Pinterest for some good ideas.
Happy birthday

Peanuts and Tree Nuts tasted off to me
Peanuts and tree nuts tasted off to me - actually they tasted like water - but other than that, everything else tasted fine. I eat a ton of greek yogurt. It is high in protein and is on the sour-side which really worked for me on chemo days.
Only had one or two times when I felt nauseous after eating and it was because I ate too much. My husband is the cook in our house and he really enjoys making dinner for me.
I agree with Cheese and Cindi, wash all fresh fruit and veggies that you don't peel to eat with dish soap and rinse thoroughly. It's easy to do and better safe than sorry. Kim

My go to food that never
My go to food that never tasted bad was chili out of a can. Turkey Wolf brand. Peanut Butter tasted really bad, threw it away and have not eaten it since just the thought makes my stomach upset. Fruit and veggies I would eat too. ON the days before chemo I would eat some smoked salmon with crackers to get my blood count up so I could pass the blood test so it would not be down and they refuse to give me a treatment. But besides the days were everything tasted bad I ate anything I wanted. Good Luck trisha

Another good thing to use for
Another good thing to use for fruit when you wash it is vinegar. I soak grapes in a lot of water and a little bit of vinegar then rinse well.
Grapes tasted really BAD for me during chemo and I still can't eat them almost 6 months later. Too bad sweets/candy/cake didn't have that lingering bad taste! :-)
