High ca125, clear Petscan results?
has anyone out there had higher than normal ca125 and followed by a clean Petscan?
My moms last ca125 was 62 and she only has one more chemo to go
3200 pre surgery then 6 cycles were as follows:
770
540
77
68
65
62
they will do a scan and I'm very worried
I will keep faith and hope alive
just curious if any of you were blessed to have a clean scan even though the numbers are not where you would have hoped
thanks

CA125
Sorry no one has answered! Coming off a long weekend, the boards get quite! I'm from the Uterine board and am a 1a, grade 3, but I have never had a PET scan. I have had two CT scans, but that was over five years ago. I don't have an answer for you, except that that darn CA125 does what it wants! A cold, a toothache, a fever, ect can make it go crazy! Between the PET and the CA125, I'd take the PET findings anyday! Try to get you and Mom some rest...it sounds like she is doing ok. Someone will be here shortly! Best, Debra(Jo)

Don't stress!
I know it sounds easy, but isn't. Look at the facts: your mom is having an Awesome response to treatment!! The CA125 is an imperfect measure, but 62 is within spittin' range of normal!! Look how far she's come!! I bet the scan will also show amazing improvement . Now, her oncologist may want to do a few more treatments, with the same or a different drug. But be happy! These results are very good! (I'd trade places in a heartbeat!)

primary peritoneal cancer
I was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer by my oncological gynecologist on May 31, 2016. According to the literature, it is a rare cancer. I am stage 111B and expect to see my treatment oncologist soon. I have been slated to have 3 cycles of chemo, surgery and 3 more cycles of chemo. I asked my oncologist about targeted chemo and he said it is a relatively new treatment but I would not benefit from it at this time. Does anyone know anything about targeted chemo and is it less traumatic to your body?
