Scan Results
I got the scan results form Monday the chemo I have been getting for the past five months OPDIVO is still not working. The tumors all continued to grow, one in particular that has been causing the bleeding in my lungs and me to cough up blood grew the most. I met with a radiation specialist this week and our goals was to use pin point radiation to shrink the tumor causing so much problems. The nice thing about pin point radiation is that it comes with limited side effects and tends to be successful most of the time. Unfortunately, since the tumor grew so much we can no longer do pin point radiation instead we will be doing full blown radiation to try and shrink the tumor. Following that I will begin IL2 this summer. I must admit I am nervous about this one due to the side effects that accompany IL2 and the possibility that it may not work. My oncologist said that if it does not work or I get tired of the side effects we will try a new experimental drug to see if we can slow the growth.

Hang in There
You must be so discouraged but as long as there are options that's a positive. Hopefully the radiation will shrink it so you don't get those bleeds. Everyone is so different and your side effects with IL2 may not be as bad. And even if that fails, there's the new experimental drug. Did they say why they're not trying that first before the IL2? Wishing you all the best; this cancer really sucks!
