Radiation Damage after IMRT and Brachytherapy for Endometrial Cancer
Hello All, Long time since I have posted here. I finished radiation and brachytherapy last Oct. 2015, but since Dec 2015 have been having rectal bleeding and pain. An MRI revealed worsening of my rectum and colitis, which is a way of saying I have radiation damage to my rectum. I am bleeding and in pain when I have bowel movements. Has anyone had any therapy that helped? Argon Cogalution or Hyberbaric? I have been bleeding like this since 12/24/2015. I am losing hope that it will get better. Any words of encouragement?

(((Prissy))) I am so sorry.
(((Prissy))) I am so sorry. There was a long thread here about post radiation damage. I think the general consensus was that because women are living longer they're finding the side effects are worse than what they thought they would be. I wish you the best in finding some relief!
Love,
Eldri

Late Effects of Radiation Treatment
Prissy, what has your radiation-oncologist and/or gyn-onc recommended to help? Do they not consider this a serious late effect of the treatment? If they are just letting you bleed like that, you should get a second opinion from another doctor (expert) immediately!
