Pity party II
I just completed first 28 days of Sutent! Today is my 4th day off. I naively thought SE would diminish. I have a lot to learn...I spent today in the hospital getting infusion for dehydration due to nausea etc. Was told by oncology nurse may take 10 days for Sutent to fully leave my body. Then start over 4 days later. To those who have been on Sutent for awhile is it this way every 2 weeks you're off? Do SE gradually resolve? Sorry for whine. Hope your day was better. My tomorrow will be

It hits some harder than others. But, from what i know about sutent, it is a hard drug. I would go for more newer drugs like Opdio or Keytruda if you can. That is an immunotherpy. You get it by iv every two or three weeks. I am not sure what you have had in the past. But try for that. Even Votrient seems more tolerable than Sutent. But, looking on the positve side, maybe they can lower your dose or put you on one week then off for a few days. They can try many different ways. There are lots of drugs out there, don't stick with this too long if it is that rough on you. Hugs!

Sutent
Sounds familiar. I think you need to drink a lot of water. And moist towelettes of course.
It gave my tumours a good kicking.

Hi, I was on Sutent for 18 months, my problem was sore feet, Keep an eye on them see a podiatrist if you have any problems such blisters, corns and getting toe nails clipped. I keeped fluid up and watch out for dry skin in sensitive areas. Regards saintmont
Airie,
Many RCC experts put their patients and a 2 week on, 1 week off schedule and they seem to tolerate it better. Where are you being treated?

Sorry that Sutent is taking a toll on you but in my opinion if it is working tolerate it as long as you can. I know for me after Votrient quite working they put me on Opdivo and so far no good news, I will know more in two weeks but they Bristol Squibb Myers, don't claim it works on everyone. On the bright side side effects are no where near as bad as Votrient.

I live in Central Illinois 6 months and San Joaquin Valley Calif other 6 months. I have just completed my first 28 days on 50 mg. My oncologist has lowered me to 37.5 for next 28 days. We discussed it and if SE continue we will go to 28-2. Thx for following up!
