Lou Ann updating

I don't feel like I have been doing a very good job here lately.  Some times I have been so tired that I have had trouble reading everyone's posts.  Everything kind of blends together Chemo brain at its best.  I know there are new members of this selective group that I haven't welcomed and many posts that I haven't answered.  I have tried to read all of your posts and you are always in my mind, thoughts and prayers

The last week has been eventful. Last week I had hydration and another blood transfusion plus a CTscan.  This week Monday I was supposed to begin my next round of Topotecan.  The CTscan results showed growth on all the old tumors and several new ones, so my Dr. Didn't want to continue with that.  He did some extensive research into Avastin and decided that even though some of th rare side effects were nasty the good outweighed the bad.  He and the hospitals financial department petitioned Medicare to allow me to have it and today they got word that it would be allowed.  His office called at 10 and I was in my infusion chair by 1.  I am feeling pretty encouraged by this.  My oncologist Evn stopped by to tell me that he had called my Gyn-Onc and the he agreed with the Avastin treatment.  Avastin is also the treatment that was a genomic testing match for my specific cancer.

Hugs and prayers to all of you, Lou Ann

LouAnn, this sounds promising.  Good that your doctor did not continue with something that wasn't working and it's great that Avastin was a match for your cancer.  This is very hopeful.

I too do agree you always provide great support.  It's ok to take time off from responding to tend to yourself.  Good news on the Avastin approval, i pray that it works out well for you.

Oh Lou Ann we all understand the hills and gullies

of this crud. You have done a lot to educate, encourage and impress us with your strong will to  keep fighting and gracefully to boot. I couldn't find enough patience not to mention grace to do your journey like you do,after every failed, made me very sick treatment, all of my thoughts would be profanity laced, I am not good with voicing them but I'd be thinking them all right. To us you are amazingly wonderful,to maintain grace under such constant fires, you need to know that.

Good news about the Avastin and you, I hope nothing stands in it's way of mapping up the mess.

Plenty comforting hugs coming from us to you my sister. We will wait for you till whenever you feel .

    Moli--Whispering Hope my sister.Nuff Love

So happy the dr has found a treatment to match your cancer and it was approved! Of course it's understandable not to comment or even read all these posts when you are suffering! You are a great supporter! Best of luck with the new treatment! Prayers for success!

I truly hope this treatment works for you. I'm happy medicare approved this treatment for you, being on disability and medicare as well I know how hard it is to get them to approve anything different. My well wishes and prayers go to you in hopes that this treatment shows great results.
