I'm not sure exactly what you are asking but 5mm is approximately 13/64 of an inch. .5mm is appx. 1/64 of an inch.
I should have explained! Getting some medical records filed and came across the notation on my surgical repotr that sad, in part, "Poylop is 1.5 mm stalk that has invasion of .5mm into uterine lining which is 5.0mm thick. Can you translate the depth for me? It didn't sound too bad to me, and that it was totaly contained. Just curious, thanks Chris, Debra

I can offer what was explained to me for mine Deb....
My polyp was about the same size as yours. It was removed during my D&C. My uterine lining was 9.0 which indicated something was wrong when I had the vaginal ultrasound.
My tumor was .2mm into the lining out of 12. So, hardly any penetration. Yours was very limited as well. We both got lucky!
Hope this helps!

Thats what I kinda thought, but I never really got a full answer to my questions! They did three biospys total and I feel they got rid of the visible cancer then. I had to wait from July to Dec to have the hysterectomy since I had to have open heart surgery first. My CA 125 was never at any time over 42, so , yes indeed, we got lucky in that respect! Thanks again Cindi I appreciate the info! Take Care, Best, Debra
