Starting pelvic floor physical therapy

Since radiation ended in April 2015, I have been suffering from IBS and a painful anal ulcer- which makes bowel movements painful. Ulcer is somehow different from more commonly known anal fissure. Anyway, I've found some measure of relief through low-FODMAP diet and pills -- including pro-biotic w. digestive enzymes, zantac, gabapentin, celebrex, colace, and (occasionally) morphine. Still, despite it all, bowel movements can be uncomfortable.
Visiting with my local oncologist recently, I was introduced to a new physical therapist specializing in pelvic floor conditions. She thinks she can help me and my condition. I think I scare everyone off b/c I am stage 4- but for anyone interested, I will post an update down the line. Just in case this is useful to others going through similar GI distress.

it was hard to find a physical therapist who knew about loss of pelvic floor muscles but she has worked wonders for me. Found out about this from HPV and Anal Cancer foundation great resource. I was shocked at how quickly I lost core muscle strength.
So sorry you have had such a rough time. Hang in there and let us know how it goes with new therapist
