Hi Guys!
It's been a hectic couple of months. Our 12 and 14 year old dogs have been sick. The 12 year old had cancer in the nasal cavity. We had it removed and are trying to keep him happy. Our 14 year old dog has kidney disease, so we're working on that now.
My brother's magnesium is starting to rise, which is good. It was at .8 for a while. He goes to the cardiologist in a couple of weeks. So far he's still not back on the chemo. He was hospitalized this past weekend with pain on the right side that radiated to the back. They kept him 24 hours for observation They said it was from the cancer. Apparently, the CT showed that the cancer metastasized to the intra-abdominal lymph nodes. What does that mean for him now? Any ideas?
I am waiting on a call from his oncologist.I am looking to switch nephrologists because I'm not happy with him at all.
I'm heading south in a few weeks to see our grandson. I am so excited. I want to make sure everything here is okay before I leave.
How's everyone else doing out there?
I think of you all often.
Lin

Girl, You Need A Break
And you never seem to get one!
You and Jen amaze me with all of the responsibilities you handle.
I'm so sorry to hear of your brother's latest report. He is such a trooper, as you are. Is your dad doing okay?
Your poor dogs. Unfortunately as they get older, just as us humans, they may begin to have health problems.
I am getting along okay physically. Mentally is a "krap shoot". Still struggle with the loss of half of my family.
Have a great time with your grandson.
Luv,
Wolfen

You have been through so much. I've thought of you often and how hard life has been for you. I truly miss JBG's posts. She was a very thoughtful person.
My brother is my hero. He never complains. I had to yell at him because he had pain all night and waited until the morning to call me because he didn't want to disturb me. I told him day or night, call me. It could have been serious, something like appendicitis. Ugh, men!!!! I am so disgusted with his team of doctors. I'm still waiting on a call from his oncologist and he was discharged on Monday. It's frustrating.
I'm having my own health issues. I had palpitations from anxiety and stress. I'm doing okay, though. I really don't want to start on anti-anxiety meds unless it's absolutely necessary. I've just had a lot going on here.
Dad is doing okay. He is on an Alzheimer's medication which seems to be slowing down the progression. He is forgetful and needs to be monitored constantly, but he still has many good days. My brother and dad are good for each other. They help each other out. My brother is intellectually disabled but functional (to a point) so dad's is able to fill in a lot of those gaps. My brother has a great memory, so he's great at reminding dad to take his meds and turn off the stove. It's working for now, but eventually, I will have to make some hard decisions for them. I have one sister who helps sometimes, she covers usually when I'm away. My other sister is useless. I guess many families deal with this.
I can't wait to see our grandson. Our son moved back north near us so I see my granddaughter more often. My DIL is expecting another girl in a few weeks. We will probably be with our grandson when she arrives, but I can't split myself in two. We'll enjoy the Florida warmth for a week, but I have to say, today is a great day here in the northeast.!
Take care of yourself and thanks for posting.

Good to see you
Sorry about your brother's latest trip to the hospital and the spread to his abdominal lymph nodes. I hope you get the call from his Oncolgist soon, so that your questions can be answered.
I also hope that you can take your vacation and enjoy your grandson and some Florida warm weather.
Keep in touch.

How have you been? Have you done any traveling yourself lately?
I haven't heard anything today so I decided to set up an office visit online with his onc. Now they have to call about the appointment. I am so angry right now! He was discharged from the hospital on Monday.
Keep in touch.

No travelling for me, yet. I have a few trips planned in May and July. I really want to go home (England) but I think its going to have to wait another year. I am terribly homesick though. May in England. AH! It can't be beat.
I hope you tell the Oncologist that you are disappointed with the amount of time your brother has had to wait since being released from the hospital. Its appauling! OK, they are busy, but so is everyone. I hope you get to talk to them tomorrow, or else it will have been a whole week gone by, and that is not acceptable.
I have a Facebook page if you are interested.

The oncologist's office called. She said there's too much to discuss over the phone and wants my brother to come in for a consult. She only has office hours in our area once a week, so we have to wait for Thursday. More waiting, ugh!!!!
PM me your Facebook info. I have one too.
