Questions to ask
Hi, I remain so terribly sorry that you are going through this. I hope our prayers and thoughts give you some comfort. I googled questions to ask doctor regarding breast cancer mets. There are many sites with valuable information. Here is one: http://ww5.komen.org/uploadedfiles/content_binaries/komeed202600.pdf
There are others. Please stay strong and let us know how you are.
Best, Sharon D

I also want you to know that we're here to listen and pray for you. Everyone tells me not to worry, etc. They've never had bc!! All of this mess comes at us like a ton of bricks for sure. Definitely write a list of anything you are thinking to ask. Puffin always suggests recording your session w/the DR. Sounds like a great idea to me. We'll be waiting to hear about your visit. Hugs, Linda

Hot Chemo Questions.
First of all let me say I am so so sorry that you are going through this. I can not imagine the emotions you are feeling, but it sounds like you are ready to fight this stomach cancer!
Write any questions down right now that you have to take with you to the dr.
I know you have questions about hot chemo. Don't forget to ask things like:
What is hot chemo?
How is different than regular chemo?
How does hot chemo work?
What are the side effects of hot chemo?
Will I be getting hot chemo and regular chemo?
Will I be getting radiation too?
Do you have a packet of information on hot chemo for me to take home to read?
Those are just some of the questions I can think about hot chemo.

Its ok to be scared
pprdin, I am so sorry to just have read what circumstances that you are going through. YES it is OK to be scared. We here are all going to be with you in spirit, thought and prayers tomorrow and days to come. I do not even like to say the name or hear it anymore. You cannot give up on this and show this beast that you are going to fight this like you have never fought so hard before. I know you have alot ahead of you in the coming days, but standing behind you are all your pink sisters giving you a big hug each day, so remember we are with you all the way. Love and Hugs, Pixie Dust

Dear Pat.
Since having mets Pat, before any treatments I ask questions similar to these, as I do not want to be used as a guinnie. I want treatments that will slow or stop progression, and not treatments that could shorten my time here, or take away my quality of life.
Do not hesitate to ask any questions that may come to mind. This is the biddest fight of your life and the best and easiest way to make a decision is to armour yourself with knowledge! If the doctor is having trouble answering your questions, or sighing or gets annoyer, then get an oncologist who eilsonė
I would most likely want to know what other options you have, why or if Hot Chemo is the best option for you, and why this over traditional chemo?
"Why do you think this is the best option, and what are the odds that it will either slow down or stop the progression?
In your opinion, is this the best treatment for me, and why?
I WITH mets, I have found it is a good idea to find out if it is a palliative treatment (just to relieve pain), or if it is a treatment to slow down or halt the progression.
Can this treatment, put me into a remission?
Will the side effects allow me to still have a good quality of life?
I will be with you in spirit and pray that all goes smoothly. I so hate that you have to go through this!

I may be a day late and $
I may be a day late and $ short...but if you can bring 1-2 friends or family with you....it's great...
extra ears can be a great perk. I had 2 friends some with my husband and I- after a certain point of listening to the dr I just heard blah blah like charlie Brown's teacher...
later I asked Husband and friends things I missed.
