How many rounds of chemo can a person take?  Do they usually give rest periods in between?

    I don't think there is an

    I don't think there is an exact number, and it probably differs with each individual.  I am up to 30 now and I know of people who have had more than that.  I had one break of 7 months after my 1st 6 treatments, because I was NED. Had a recurrence and had 5 more rounds.  I got a 4 month break back To NED and more important, I was having problems with my blood and the doctor said my body needed a rest.  I have been on chemo ever since Every 3-4 weeks depending on my blood counts and type of chemo.  Did get a 6 week rest for surgery in September.  Lou Ann

    Stage of Cancer

    When were you first diagnosed and what stage were you?  When did your recurrence occur and what stage are you in now?  It sounds like you have been in treatment for quite a while and are doing well.  I am new to all this and appreciate all your help.

    1st diagnosed in Aug. 2012.

    1st diagnosed in Aug. 2012.  radical hysterictomy and sandwich treatment.  NED from Junw 2013 to dec. 2013.  stage 4 very aggressive.  Teatments with Taxol/Carbo until June 2014, took a break from then until sept. 2014 Ned and bad blood problems.. recurred that sept and have been on various treatment plans since.  I am doing pretty good.  many more good days than bad.  hugs and prayers, Lou Ann
