I was talking with a co-worker today about her husband who had what was like flesh-eating disease on his leg for a long time last year.  He had significant nerve damage, as you may imagine, and the pain was probably something like what the ladies with neuropathy feel.  Today she mentioned that he has been receiving cold laser treatments that have helped with the pain.  He was told he may always have the tingling, but my co-worker said he reported feeling an improvement.

In any case, I just wanted to throw this out to everyone who has pain and thought maybe someone has experienced it or can comment.

  • I had cold laser for shoulder/neck pain

A couple of years ago, I had shoulder/neck pain & tightness.  About the same time I also had sciatic type pain in my leg.  My PT used cold laser then for both, but I didn't see any significant effects after using it.  The best thing for my shoulder/neck pain was needling.  And applying pressure points.  Nothing worked for the sciatic type pain, so I stopped pursuing it, eventually it got better on it's own.  Now when I get my nerve pain after chemo, it's always worse in my right leg than my left, so I think I just have highly irritable nerves.  I am going to try accupuncture, and still playing around with the idea of Reiki.  Hugs Nancy

    STOP THE PRESSES!!  This is

STOP THE PRESSES!!  This is more for anyone who reads this in the future.

My co-worker just stopped by to say the therapist COLD LASER should NOT be used on cancer patients.  It may 'rejuvenate' cancer cells.  DO NOT GO DOWN THIS ROAD WITHOUT A DOCTOR SPELLING IT ALL OUT.
