Port Ache
So, I've been pretty active lately, pruning roses, sawing branches, riding the bike, re-arranging cabinets, etc., and really stretching my right arm. It seems as though the area around my port, really, the whole upper part of my chest extending toward my right arm has a very mild ache. There's no heat or swelling that I can notice, just an occasional dull ache in that area. Wondering if this is just from really stretching that area or something that needs to be checked out.

Check it out
Hi Chris, perhaps better safe than sorry? I believe you mentioned a while back you went in and had your port flushed, so it's probably just muscle ache from all the awesome activity you're engaging in. Still, if you're worried, ease your mind and get it checked out.

Give it a while, muscle protesting the abuse
Muscle fatigue I think., not think, I know. the key is not to overdo things.know how the muscles feel after being on the thread mill after a period of absence? You have been favouring and protecting this area for many weeks then you start ill-treating it with your burst of energy, what do you expect , you are not Tarzan's Jane , you are Chris, just take it easy Chris you will be fine in no time.
Love you ,Moli

My port still bothers me off and on. In fact, I get dull aches at least a couple of times a week.
And, when I stretch that area, I feel a pull.
I want mine out but my local oncologist suggested I wait until I see my gyn/onc in April. So, I'm waiting.
I think you are fine Chris.
Love and Hugs,
Cindi

I've had the same thing the
I've had the same thing the last week. With my port site finally healing, I've been using my right arm again after months of babying it and I've noticed an ache not specifically at the port site but kind of around it. I thought maybe it was infected again but I don't see anything and I don't have a fever. I just think the muscles around it had started to atrophy. I see my doctor again on Tuesday and I'm going to ask her about it but I don't think it's anything to worry about.
I was so envious when you said you were pruning roses - LOL, it's -2 here in Green Bay this morning and we have snow banks at the end of our driveway over six feet high. It will be a LONG time before I have any flowers to prune!!

Eldri

Not to rub it in, Eldri, but the forecast is for temperatures around 70 and even into the mid 70's over the next few days. This is not uncommon to have a false spring here around Valentine's Day. However, we desperately need more rain after 4 years of drought. I would gladly trade a few of those sunny days for a good rainstorm.
LOL, Moli, no, I am not Tarzan's Jane! I have actually stayed pretty active all of this, so I was surprised about the ache. I will send a note to my doctor, just so it's documented and see what her response is.

Hoping for rain for you. We are up in the 50s for a couple of days and this is the middle of Montana. We usually get a warm spell around now too and the the lilacs and tulips start to bud. Then it goes back to below 0 and all the buds freeze. We can always use rain. Although not as much as you.
i would think that the shoulder pain is from use, but if you are worried ask the doc. It will give you peace of mind.
Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann

Eastern Nebraska has been getting some rain and more snow this year. I think we're ahead of the moisture, but we're sitting in the mid 30's. Anyway, it seems like it's cold, dark & dreary which makes we cold, dark & dreary too! On a side note, how are you doing Lou Ann. Is your bad episode with chemo #29 resolved? Hugs Nancy
