Tamoxifen and periods

Hi all,  just wondering should periods stop while on Tamoxifen.  I started taking it 3 weeks ago and would have been due a period in 7 days but low and behold I got a period yesterday (heavy).  This morning it has almost gone though, so unsure what caused it, is it normal etc.  Anyone else out there who had same problem.  (I am premenopausal)

    Tamoxifen and periods

Hi, I was wondering the same thing. I am on Tamoxifen for 2 and a half years and I still have periods. They are irregular and lighter than before. My OB said that Tamoxifen affects women differently and while some women lose them, the others continue to have them. So I guess this is all normal.

No effect at all for me

I've been on Tamoxifen for 6 1/2 years, since the age of 40.  I was and am most definitely premenopausal -- my periods were regular like the moon before Tamoxifen, and really have not changed at all on Tamoxifen.

I make sure to get annual pelvic exams from my OB/GYN, which is very important while on Tamoxifen, but she's noticed no change either, so all is well "down there"! Surprised
