Pembrizumab
Good evening. My mom was diagnosed with uterin cancer stage 1A almost 2 years ago when this nightmare began... Over the course of this time she received chemo and brachytherapy radiation. (3 treatments )she is otherwise healthy, fit, active, etc
she was then given a clean bil of health and we celebrated her entrance to remission only to soon find out it came back in her abdomen. She was given abdominal surgery to remove two spots which were successful and more rounds of chemo as a precaution.
She finished chemo in September and went in for her 3 month check and found a nodule on her lung that grew. She had a biopsy and we found out today that she has cancer again! A 3rd time. The doctor did not recommend chemo, radiation or surgery but recommended she take
Pembrolimizamab .. My question is. Has any ever taken this before?
She is also exploring taking Canibus oil.
Thanks in advance!

So sorry to hear about your
So sorry to hear about your mom. Hopefully this new therapy will work for her. I had never heard of that drug so I looked it up. I found an article at this site: http://www.mercknewsroom.com/news-release/prescription-medicine-news/fda-approves-keytruda-pembrolizumab-treatment-patients-metas. It looks like it was just approved for use against lung cancer that did not respond to platinum based chemo. Previously it was used for metastic melanoma.
This is such a frightening time for you both, but don't despair. You will see that there are other on our board who have overcome similar odds. There is always hope! As we say here, your mom is a statistic of one. One of the ladies on our board has had tremendous success with Metformin in conjunction with her chemotherapy. Thoughts and caring with you, Sandy
