Today is PET/ct date post neck dissection -Update
my boyfriend finished treatment for NPC at the end of Jan,2015. The 6 month PET showEd 2 hot spots in his right side neck. Had modified right neck dissection in early September and 6 nodes were cancerous. Today is his first post surgery scan. I am so nervous. Please keep us in your prayer.
Update: We got in general good news yesterday. Oncologist said it's all good. There is a 8 mm non-FDG avid nodule in his left thyroid gland from PET/ct scan. Oncologist said it's common and wasn't concerned. We were of course nervous about the nodule. He said we could follow up with the PCP if we wanted. So we are going to see the PCP and probably do ultrasound in early Feb. Hope it's nothing. Keep our fingers crossed.
Thanks for all your suppport!

He has been feeling depressed ever since neck dissection. He was very discouraged by the result that 6 nodes were still cancerous. We will meet with oncologist tomorrow to discuss the scan and I will post the update.
Sending HUGS to you and your boyfriend. Best of luck to you!
