Tuesday my 80 year old mum starts her  first chemo treatment....she has been fighting breast cancer for the last 10 years .... She was doing a Hormone chemo therapy but that no longer is showing any changes...we are ready for this next journey ( well at least we think we are)

any suggests to make the treatments doable...

    Sorry about your situation.

    One thing I think can help is making sure she has anti-nausea medicine and that it works.  My med people told me that if what I had did not work to let them know and they would change the prescription.  I had no issues with vomiting, but I did have a few queasy days.  I know that in addition to my pills I had, a drip and pills I was given prior to my infusions also helped.  I did adriamycin/cytoxin first, and I used the prescriptions; when I did taxol, I did not need them.  I think that if I had had problems with nausea, it would have made the exeperience a lot more difficult for me.
