A Year Ago Today

A year ago today I had recently woken up from the coma but was still in ICU and unable to move. To cheer me up the staff and my family decided to let my horse visit me. This is the link. When it looks like he's got his face in my lap what he's doing is trying to pull the blanket off.

    No luck

Can't get in. I even ditched the =like on the end, but still no luck. I would love to see the pic/article though, and will try a few more ways in.

I did find your page though.

I am so glad the horrible year is over for you.

Each time, I see your posts I am reminded of my daughter, Johnnybegood and her horse Shania. She loved her first horse (Johnnybegood), but Shania was her baby who followed her around like a big puppy. Sadly, she was not able to ride either after her surgery.

My best to you in this new year.

    Luv,

    Wolfen

    Aw, that's horrible! I can't

Aw, that's horrible! I can't imagine never riding again but when I was paralyzed after the coma I wondered. I wondered if I'd ever even walk again. There's a quote that goes around on facebook sometimes that says something along the lines of 'please God don't let me know when is the last time I'll ever ride again'. I'm so sorry for your daughter. Do you ride at all?

I'm riding and have been for a few months but I'm not the same as I was. I'm trying to build up inner core strength. And I've picked up some old bad riding habits. But my boy is forgiving and just goes with whatever I want to do. If I'm having a good day and want to go fast he will. And if I'm feeling weak and tired and just want to walk he's fine with that, too. And now I'm finally strong enough again to put my saddle on by myself. But I still need a big mounting block for both getting on and off.

    Maybe this will work? This

Maybe this will work? This was the article they did when there was a fundraiser set up for me.

I read the article in the Strathmore Times. You have truly experienced a miracle!

I have not ridden in many years except once during my last visit to Johnnybegood's. A friend had several horses and my son-in-law "allowed" me to ride around in the yard. I laughed as I told them I was riding before any of them had been born. The saddles are heavier and the horses taller, LOL, but I can still ride.

It was always my dream to have a horse, but fate did not cooperate. I am glad Johnnybegood was able to fulfill her dream which was identical to mine. She had her beautiful home in the country and many horses, if only for a short time. I guess my dreams died with her and my Ron.

    Peace,

    Wolfen

    Thank you, Jan

The Strathmore Times works. The Pureform only let me in so far.

What a fuzzy horse. Winter coat?

It was a good article, and I loved the way they called your trial and 'incident'. Quite the incident, I would say.

Yes Sue, it was winter and he

Yes Sue, it was winter and he gets a really good coat every year. In the summer he looks like he does in my avatar. My daughter said she'd have given him a good brushing and a trim if she'd have known the pictures would be published.
