            From My experince: make sure
From My experince: make sure your gyno checks you regularly for enlarged unterus. My long term gyno said no need to but my oncologist contacted him and insisted. So about every 4-5 mths I would have an (not sure of the medical name) internal ultrasound to measure thickness-
followed by a D & C @ time.
I did have a total hysterctomy about 4 1/2 yrs into the taking the med.
I am not trying to scare you or make it sound bad-I am happy my onoco. insisted.
I have been off Tamoxifen now for about 18mths and all it well.
I had not other side effects from it/ some weight gain-but I am not sure from the medicine or just my age or menopause.

            Tamoxifen
I think it starts working immediately but it does take a few weeks to build up into your system. I have been taking it for about 5 1/2 years now. It gives me stiffness in my joints but that subsided greatly after the first few months of using it. I also have thickening of my uterus. I had a biopsy last year and was told that everything is fine. So I am slated to remain on the Tamoxifen for another 4 1/2 years.
