Five year check up
I dont get on here often but when i do, i have been encouraged & gotten a wealth of information from others walking the same path. I just wanted to give hope to those who are just entering this scary world of having anal cancer.
I had my 5 year follow up ct scan & bloodwork last week & the results came back perfect!! I go to the colon surgeon (i go to him for my anoscopes; even tho i actually ended up not needing surgery) next week & I anticipate all will be fine there. But i know five years cancer free is a milestone for any cancer survivor and I am so thankful that I have reached this mark!
I dont have any of the issues that others on here have had either. Which i dont know how to explain that but i am so thankful i havent. No residual pain, no achey joints, no loss of energy, no having to watch what i eat. Its as tho i never had this stupid disease and I hope it always stays that way!!!!
Good luck to all of you and I am hoping my report gives others on here hope & encouragement!

Great news! Thank you for sharing, I just passed my 6 year ned for anal cancer (6-30-09) and my 5 year ned lung cancer (9-23-10). Fortunately it was found early enough in both cancers to go for the cure.
I wish you continued great news and I love to see the great news. Lori

I am so happy to see your post and I congratulate you on reaching this important milestone! I'm so glad you are not dealing with some of the post-treatment issues that some of us, including me, are dealing with. I hope that you will always be free of these issues. May you remain healthy and happy always!
