I had my expander exchange surgery on Oct. 22.  It was much easier than the mastectomy.  I did have drains again, Yuck, but for only a week.  It has been almost 3 weeks and I am still sore in some places.  Is that normal?  Sometimes it feels like I still have the expanders in.  Anyone else have that feeling before?  I still thank God everyday.

I do no thave any experince in expanders, but wanted to say thinking of you and hugs.

I am sure someone here on this board may have some helpful info or experience.

    Hi Datsy~

You might be swollen still, or at least your body adjusting to the new "parts".  I am 6 years out from my exchange surgery and it has felt a part of me for so long now I don't remember it being painful. Certainly you should have a check up coming due, and can address any concerns with your doctor.

    I agree with Melanie --

muscle soreness is "normal" after a mastectomy and reconstruction- for a piece of mind .. make an appointment to see your surgeo and get checked out.

infections and other crazy things can happen.

let us know how you are doing when time permits.
