AROMASIN SIDE AFFECTS
Hello, Everyone:
It's been a while since I've posted here. Quick recap: OVCA in 2000, 2006, breast cancer in 2013.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced side affects with Aromasin (examestane)? My CA125 (OVCA marker) has been up and down, but higher than my usual counts. I also have lower leg edema, which I used to only have on the left side but now have on both. I have trouble sleeping from time to time, which never used to be the case for me. I have put on a lot of weight, specifically around the mid section. Joint pain has been a problem, but I take a supplement that seems to help a little. Fatigue is a problem also, possibly due to lack of quality sleep.
Just saw the oncologist for the breast cancer for a follow-up. Everything okay there. Just had a CT scan for the usual OVCA follow-up, and I'll get those results this week. And I will see my gynecologic oncologist this week as well, but just wanted to get some thoughts on all of this.
Thank you, and my continued prayers for all of you.
Have a Blessed Day!
Monika

Hi!I was on Arimidex for 2
Hi!
I was on Arimidex for 2 years until the side effects were intolerable. I tried Aromasin and it was 10 times worse. I went off for a month and back on Arimidex and also Cymbalta for joint pain and other side effects. After a month I am finally feeling really good. Not much pain and aches, not much fatigue (I even have bursts of energy sometimes:) and my mood is stable and not all over the place My Onc also had me do a month of physical therapy and my back pain (where I have a stable dormant lesion) is almost pain and ache free! I don't even take a daily Aleve anymore.
I gained 25 pds the first year of Arimidex but haven't gained since and have not been able to lose since either
Hope this helps. Keep trying to find what works for you. There's alot of options and pain management things out there.
Best wishes

Just wanted to be sure this wasn't 'all in my head'. Everytime I mention these things my doctors, they look at me as if to say, 'yeah, and?'.
