Winter around the orner
I have got through the last three years without a cough or cold. Two weeks ago I got a chest infection and I cancelled my throat dilation. I got better, now today I'm aching in bone joints in my hands, my head, my teeth, my eyes my nose is alternating between stuffed up and runny., I have a temperature of 38.1. I don't know why after three years of no colds, flu, and chest infections should I start now. I have a dilation booked tomorrow looks like I'm going to miss it again. I feel most miserable and ill.

It appears you bumped into
an unfamiliar bug....one that your body didn't have any resistance to. I swear the only times I've been sick (other than cancer) in the last 30 years is after hanging out with little kids. They always seem to be packing some kind of "new" germ. I'm sorry you have to miss your dilation twice in a row, tho....You might need an antibiotic, tho, since you're running a fever.

Sorry to hear that Jackie
Since my surgery I don't get colds, as a neck breather. The nose is just an orament and just holds my glasses on. Air can go through it but it has to be windy and just right conditions. However it can get stuffed up so I have to still tace my sinus meds. Just the other it got all pluged. The only way to discribe it is a very strange and almost scarry feeling. I know I breath through my neck so if my noise gets pluged it's no big deal except your mind tells you cant breath so you should breath through your mouth which I can't. I know I am getting air but the brain auto responce takes over and you feel like you should be gasping for air. Just strange how some functiond you do and are never ayare of they are just automatin. If I have food get stuck while I am trying to swallowing I feel like i'm choking, but I can't chock on food as I breath through my neck. You still will get the auto responce and feel like you are choking until it goes down.
Jackie you have a very slite temp but with what we go through are warning temp number is lower. It used to be 38.3 but know it is 37.7 and I have to be concerned. When all your joints ach and you hurt all over it just has to run it's course. Hope this doesn't last and you're back to feeling good sone.

because I've been in 'good health' lately I begrudge getting a cold. I do mx with my great grand kids and the little one year old boy has always got a snotty nose. I just love to cuddle him. When Pete was alive if any friend and relation had a cold they stayed away. He had breathing problems, now I'm alone people come to visit even if they are full of cold. It's nice that they feel I can handle it and as I'm in remission, they think I'm cured. There's no way I'd tell them to go once they visit but wish they'd think..I felt a bit better today and have another appt for next Wednesday for dilation. I think people think once your back on your feet you're strong as an OX just as you were before cancer, but that will never be quite the case. My doc reckoned my immune systems down after all this time after rads. I still get days I don't understand that I can go from energetic to fatigue in moment, real heavy eyelid closing fatigue. Then it's over and I'm ok again.
