Postponing Chemo #6?
Is it bad if you postpone the "last" chemo?
My headache got worse and I believe my blood counts are already very low.
I won't get neulasta,I rather have another transfusion.
What do you think sisters?
I'm going to call my doctor to see, my chemo #6 should be on October 8.

Cucu, I have no experience to
Cucu, I have no experience to answer your question. But, I wanted to ask you if you still have a headache? If yes, it sure seems like they should be able to give you something to help that. Maybe you should get your levels checked before you make a decision to postpone? Hopefully, you doctor can give you the guidance you need to make that decision. Please share what he says if you are comfortable doing so.
Stay Strong! You are almost done!

I remember having a slight postponement of my follow-up chemo because my blood numbers tanked and I was still recovering from surgery. Can't remember the specifics because it was six years ago. My treatment consisted of: radiation in the morning, chemo in the afternoon from July to October weekdays, 3 internal Brachys, then surgery (full Hysterectomy) the end of October, then I believe a couple weeks off, then back to follow-up chemo, then my numbers tanked, then last chemo in December.
Best,
Susan

Mine was delayed a week -
Mine was delayed a week - numbers weren't good enough. I don't think they will want to give you chemo if your numbers aren't good enough.

I had chemos 5 and 6 postponed because of low platelet counts and after chemo 11 we took a 4 month break because of very poor blood. I had the Nuelasta shots and had no side effects from them. I was teaching full time at the time and the Nuelasta kept my white blood cells up enough that I was able to survive working in germ city USA. Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann
