Scared might have breast cancer
Hi, my name is Amanda and I'm 41 years old. I was having some pain in my right breast and I have complexed cysts in left.
I went for my annual mammo and was sent for an ultrasound due to "severe density". The radiologist found some small cysts in right breast but was not content with his findings and sent me for an MRI last Monday. On Tuesday morning I got a call saying that he found a 1.3 by 0.3cm linear non mass like enhancement in my lower lateral right breast. The report shows I'm Birad 4. It also shows that the area has level 2 enhancement with some level 3 enhancement. I am now terrified! I have another MRI with biopsy scheduled for this up coming Tuesday 9/15.
My mother had breast cancer with radical mastectomy when she was 32. I keep telling myself it's nothing and MRI shows false positives and I'm worried for nothing, but that small area of my brain and heart is telling me to brace myself...is this type of finding normal? Can I be stressing for nothing? I'm so lost :-(

I feel the same way
Hi Amanda,
I am also 41 and I had my first mammo on August 11. I was also classified byrads 4. I made myself crazy looking stuff up online. I know its hard but try not to. Anyway I had convinced myself I had bc. I cried when they called and told me my biopsy was normal. Then later they called and were still concerned. I had a lumpectomy today. Hoping for benign results. I will be praying for you. It is a very stressful process and I can totally relate to how you feel.

i had an emotional break down today at work non the less...finally told a few people what's going on and it relieved some of my fear but yet I'm still terrified.
If your biopsy came back clear what caused them to do a lumpectomy? I will be praying for you! I know your scared...please update me when you recieve your results...

Hello,
The reason they did the lumpectomy is because the biopsy showed fibroepithelial neoplasm which is found in both fibroadenoma and phyllodes tumors. It is very hard to tell them apart. They favored the fibroadenoma which is good. Anyway doctor just called and said it was benign. So happy and relieved that I don't have to wait over the weekend. I was convinced it was bc and it turned out good. I hope it gives you hope. I know its hard to talk about it, but once you do you will find out so many women have gone through this and the majority of the time its benign. God bless and I will keep you in my prayers.

i woke up to your message today, and I am so happy for you! Thank you Jesus for it being benign!!
its been difficult to talk about because I don't want to put a hype on it being cancer...but everyone has been supportive and if a few prayers can come out of it than wonderful.
I ask for prayers of strength because if it's anything I will need all the strength possible. I don't know if I can handle it.
I will update when I hear something...and again I am so happy to hear you will be ok...thanks for helping me through this!
~Amanda
