carboplatin
I was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer in May 2015. I have had 4 doses of A/C every two weeks. Now I am getting taxol for 12 weeks. The tumor has not responded to the chemo. I will be getting 2 doses of carboplatin to try and shrink the tumor. Can anyone told me the side effects they may have gotten from this drug?

Hi Glowmore I have surgery inGlowMore said:??
No Surgery? Three months and no plans for surgery? How did they make the diagnosis of Triple Negative Stage 2 ? I had the A/C plus 5FU drug but not that Carboplatin....they didn't have that then. What does your Oncologist say about this and what is the Plan ?
Hi Glowmore I have surgery in November. My oncologists said that adding carboplatin is relatively new. After I wrote the post I had a very encouraging conversation with the woman who will be doing my surgery. She stated that the alot of times when she goes in to remove the tumor she finds that on a molecular level the tumor is dead. So although the ultrasound may show a mass it does not always tell the whole story. So again, you really dont know until they actually go in take te tumor out and do the biopsies.
