Hello Again
At some point, I just got too busy to keep up with the forum. As with everything else, I needed to tell myself to make time, as this site was so helpful to us when we really needed it. Doug might come on and update for himself, but the short form of the news is: he's finally joined the low-thyroid club. The GP called today to say his blood tests indicated it was time for pills. Doug had been cold all the time lately, and was acting a bit sluggish (for him, which means he was only doing twice what normal people do, instead of 3-4 times normal). Not unexpected. Could be worse. Hello again!

Hi Mary
Sounds like some very good news if he is up and going again. As with me I went almost 6 years before I needed the thyroid medicine, and like Doug I was cold all the time and did not know why. Glad he got it before it got worse.
All the best to you both
Tim

Our Dr. Mary!
Always good to hear from you. You and Doug were so helpful and encouraging during my treatments. Glad to see your posts on Facebook. Dawn is also missed here but she is busy on Facebook. We continue to let newbies know about the Superthread. Sorry Doug slowed down. It was exhausting to follow him between his travels with work and hockey.

Thyroid
Well at least it is easy to take, once they get dialed in and low cost. I have been on thyroid for 52 years. Found out why when they did my surgery. I was born with only half a thyroid and 3 of the 4 parathyroid gland. Low thyroid sure can make you sluggish. I was so tired I could not get out of bed. My first test was the "Old School". Breath oxygen and see how long your body takes to burn it up. It looked like scuba gear like on Sea Hunt. Now they just stick you and take all the fun out of it. Hope they get it dialed in soon.

Thyroid
Well, they warned us. I joined the club about three weeks ago. Already the Levothyroxine has cleared up the fatigue and mental fog, though I'm still the only one who carries a jacket with me to eat at an indoor restaurant. It's amazing that such a tiny pill can make this great a difference. We certainly are fearfully and wonderfully made! I hope your hubby will get similar results soon.
