symptoms of lung mets????
Hi Everyone. After reading some of your blogs about mets to the lungs, I am starting to worry just a little. My anal cancer was diagnosed over 2 years ago. Stage 1 no lymph involvement. However, recently, I have been having some chest discomfort and congestion. Made an appt. with a cardiologist for September 1. Has anyone experienced symptoms of the lung mets? Just curious. I would appreciate any comments anyone can share. I have been gaining weight, having terrific sweats, and chest congestion. Please offer any insight.. Thank you

symptoms of lung mets
Try not to jump to concludions. It is unlikely that you have mets. I have lung mets. I have a cough but had no symptoms initially (12 mos. ago). Wait 'til after you see your doc to start worrying.

donnarush....
Hi there, worry and anxiety are terrible and difficult to just turn off....but as mentioned, try not to jump to conclusions! When my lung mets were found I had no symptoms what so ever and it was only discovered on a follow-up scan. While I also belive in "never say never" anal cancer itself is still considered rare and mets even more so, combined with the fact that most people with mets were initially diagnosed at Stage 3 or more......take a breath and wait till you see the doctor. That being said, I'm glad you are seeing a cardiologist, as I think people in our position get so consumed with the world of cancer that we sometimes ignore symptoms of other non-related health issues. Please keep us posted....we'll be waitihg and hoping for good news!

I thought I had lung mets but
I thought I had lung mets but I didn't. I was stage 4 and had been a smoker all my life. I had shallow breathing, difficulty breathing, shoulder and rib pain. I googled my symptioms and it all pointed to lung cancer. I had a CT scan done asap. Nothing wrong. It's so easy to worry about cancer coming back. I worry all the time (who wouldn't, especially when you were stage 4). It's been 4 years since diagnosis and I don't think I'll ever get over the concern that it'll come back and destroy me.

are you getting neulasta shots?
The days following chemotherapy treatments, I receive neulasta to keep my white blood cell count up. That's fine, except shot causes bone pain and in my case tightness in the chest areas. And so if you're experiencing chest issues, I wonder if it might be related to that. Just a thought.
