I don't trust the numbers

I am glad none of my doctors have told me what the chances are that I will have a recurrence and how much time I have left to live. If I were told I had a low chance of recurrence I'm afraid I would see it as a guarantee and choose not to get all the preventative treatment I might need. On the other hand, if I were given a very gloomy prognosis I might feel too discouraged and not enjoy the time I have left.
I have had one recurrence and did read dire projections online based on that, but it has been over two years since my treatment for the recurrence and there has been no evidence of disease since then. Sue
