Increased TSH 4 years post thyroidectomy
i was diagnosed with thyroid cancer ( follicular variant -papillary carcinoma) in November 2011. I had the thyroid removed and my TSH levels were maintained at around .4 or so. About a year post-thyroidectomy, I was diagnosed with lupus. So, I have been taking 137mcg of synthroId (no generic) 5x per week, 10 mcg cytomel daily, 500 plaque il daily, and 1000 mg etodolac daily. I also take 20 mg celexa daily, I have my blood drawn at the endocrinologist every 6 months. I went last week and the dr called today to say my TSH was at 37.5! I was shocked. I have been tired and have noticed my hair falling out a bit. for the last 27 days I have been following the Whole 30 diet-no gluten, no dairy, no sugar, no beans. It is basically fruit, vegetables and proteins. At first I felt better, but now more tired. And no weight loss. Now I know why
