PET Scan Results--Not what I expected

I saw the oncologist today.  The lung nodules are growing very slowly, and still to small to biopsy.  He also believes that my cough could be caused by the blood pressure medicine I've been taking for 20+ years.  He said he is comfortable with a wait and see approach to the lung nodules since they are growing to slowly to be a triple negative cancer.  I is concerned about a swollen lymph node in the center of my chest.  I will be having a bronchoscopy and biopsy sometime in the next week or two.  Once we get those results, he will decide if anything needs to be done.  Way better news than I expected.

Thanks for all the prayers.  I'm usually fairly positive, but I don't think I was this nervous when I was first diagnosed.  :-)

    Good news

    I am so glad you got this news. About the cough, my mother (not a cancer patient) developed a terrible nagging cough and we couldn't believe it when the doctor suggested cutting down her blood pressure meds. But it worked, the cough is gone. I'm glad you got to the bottom of yours. I can certainly see how it felt like it was a lung problem. I think all of us think "Cancer!" every time we have an ache or pain. I wish you the best of health going forward, Anna

    Yes, some blood pressure meds are notorious for causing a cough and certainly hope that's the cause of yours too.
