Jaw immobility post-treatment - physical therapy??
Hello, my mom has now been through two rounds of treatment for tonsillar cancer - one round of radiation, and a second round of combined radiation and chemo. She finished the second round at the end of Feb. 2015. The treatment has resulted in a severe lack of mobility in her jaw, and it's continuing to get worse. The doctors have prescribed exercises, but they aren't working - at least not doing them "on our own." Docs are concerned because they can't get in there to get a good view of her throat.
I'm hoping someone might have some ideas for us in terms of physical therapy - anyone had this issue and seen success in seeing a particular type of PT or other treatment? Would value any/all ideas.

Hi Woolley
Sorry to hear this I also have lockjaw I can open my month only 12mm lest then 3/8 of an inch but I received two full rounds of 35 treatments of radiation, nothing they can do for me. Your mother just starting treatment should not be like that already, but guess we are all different. Some of the best help I got was from a chiropractor but not every one of them are the same shop around and talk to them to see if they have experience in cases like your Mom.
