Editgirl - How are you doing?

Hi Chris,

I have been thinking about you all weekend. I hope your surgery went well and you are not feeling too much pain today. Also, hope your results were good on the lymph nodes.

Sending you positive energy for a very quick healing process.

Take care,

Cindi

    Thx Cindi!

Doing well, energy is slow to comeback but it is coming back.  The ureter stent works, the gallbladder is gone and they biopsied my new met.  Went home that evening. Taking this week off to continue to recuperate and get strong for clinical trial which I start the enrollment process on this week.  I was accepted in two So we have some decisions to make.

    hang tough ladies!  Anne

    Home and recovering

    Hi all.

The surgery went well and the doctors were pleased.  They found no obvious signs of cancer anywhere else in the area.  I won't get the pathology back on the lymph nodes, etc. for 2-3 weeks when I have my follow up with my surgeon on August 5.  I ended up spending two nights in the hospital because I had a couple of bouts of mild nausea and they didn't want me sent home until that was resolved.  Glad to be off a clear liquid diet, though.  Jeez, I lost weight and cannot afford it!  Worst part was the gas pain from all that gas floating around inside.  That was awful, though the worst was over by end of the second day after surgery.  Be prepared, Cindi.  Other pain has been minimal, and I'm only taking pain meds at night.  I am walking several times a day, but trying to be good about resting, too.  Now I'm concentrating on getting my energy back, eating well, and being prepared for whatever is next.

Anne, glad to hear that your surgery went well, too.

    Chris

    glad you are home!

    Chris,

Thanks for the update. Glad you are doing so well. Sorry about the gas pains though. I had a bit of that settle in my shoulder area when I had my tubes tied years ago. It wasn't fun.

That is amazing about not taking any pain meds during the day. Good for you!

Please keep in touch as you progress.

My next step is an appointment with the pre-op medical team this Thursday. A non-even in the overall scheme of things. :-)

    Take care,

    Cindi

    I think you'll feel better

I think you'll feel better with each passing day.  (I did).  You know, usually the pathology report is ready within a week after operation.  I forgot about the gas pains until I read this.  The biggest issue was simply fatigue (and getting over the anestesia).  I hope your nodes come out negative.  Be well -- Tikvah

Yes, I remember your warning about bowel obstruction.  I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and whole grains.  I was also prescribed a stool softener which I have been taking.  So far, no problems, but I am very conscious of that possibility.  I've been walking about 20 minutes at a time at least twice a day to keep everything moving, too.  Hopefully, that will all help.  Today, my BF drove me out to the barn to replenish my horse's supplements and senior feed.  It's about a 25 minute ride one way and I wasn't sure how I'd do, but it wasn't bad at all.  However, I am a bit tired now and will pretty much rest the remainder of the day.
